Caris Healthcare has ongoing opportunities for patient volunteers,
administrative volunteers, and special events volunteers. Patient volunteers sit with hospice patients in nursing homes to provide companionship or in their homes to provide companionship and caregiver respite. To become a patient volunteer, there is a 4 hour training course (lunch is provided) and a drug screen and TB skin test (no cost to the volunteer). Administrative and special events volunteers, who do not have direct patient contact, do not need to go through the training, but can help in our office or with making cards, crafts, and sewing projects for patients. For more information, please contact Cindy McDaniel at (865) 988-8034 or email cmcdaniel@carishealthcare.com. Training classes are ongoing and can be scheduled around work or school. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be a licensed driver. Volunteers set their own schedules. No amount of volunteering is too little, and all is appreciated. |
